Düsseldorf Tourist Information Center Reopens in New Location
After a period of renovations, the Düsseldorf Tourist Information Center has reopened in a new location, providing visitors with a stylish and spacious 120 square meter space to gather information and plan their trips. The new center is situated next to the Uerige brewery at the corner of Akademie and Rhein streets, directly on the scenic Rhine promenade.
The reopening of the tourist information center marks a realignment, as the needs and expectations of visitors have changed. The new center offers more than just information; it provides inspiration, with a media wall displaying tour offers, videos, photos, and event highlights.
Visitors can take advantage of a variety of tours and activities during the opening weekend. On March 4th, classic old town and new augmented reality (AR) tours, as well as guided tours focused on "Legends" and "Beer Culture," will be offered. On Sunday, March 5th, an interactive kids' tour and a rally will take place. Additionally, visitors can win tickets for the DEG's last home game of the season on March 5th.
The tourist information center is wheelchair-accessible and offers consultation areas, information materials, and a selection of local products for purchase. A tactile city map is available in the entrance area for orientation.
The interior of the new tourist information center features a wooden bar, symbolizing Düsseldorf's reputation for having the world's longest bar. All information about the opening program can be found at a specific location, which is yet to be disclosed.
Frank Schrader, CEO of Düsseldorf Marketing, expressed delight with the reopening of the tourist information center. He stated that the new location places the tourist office directly on a popular spot for visitors, known for leisurely strolls, dining, and river views. Although no explicit promotional offers upon reopening were found, the relocation to this renovative riverside site may enhance visitor experience through improved accessibility and an attractive setting.
If you seek concrete opening promotions or special deals at the renovated Tourist Information center, contacting Düsseldorf Tourism directly or monitoring their official channels closer to your date of visit would be advisable, as current publicly available information does not specify such offers.
