Smart Country Convention 2026 Returns Bigger Than Ever
The Smart Country Convention, Europe's premier event for public sector digitalization, is set to return to Berlin from October 13-15, 2026. The event has grown significantly since its inception, with the 2025 edition attracting over 23,000 participants and being patronized by the Federal Ministry for Digitalization and State Modernization.
The 2026 edition promises to be even larger, expanding to three exhibition halls with over 1,000 live sessions, 800 speakers, and 100 workshops. The exhibition area will span 20,000 square meters, accommodating around 500 exhibitors. Last year's event saw a 22% increase in attendance, reflecting its growing importance in the sector.
The 2025 convention was graced by the presence of Federal Minister of Digitalization Dr. Karsten Wildberger and four state secretaries. Munich was awarded the smartest city in Germany according to the Smart City Index 2025. GovIntel from Berlin won the Smart Country Startup Award 2025.
The Smart Country Convention 2026 will once again be patronized by Karsten Wildberger. With its expanded scale and influential attendees, the event is poised to continue driving innovation and progress in the digitalization of the public sector.
