Emirates Group Posts Record Profits and Expansion Plans
The Emirates Group, a leading aviation and travel conglomerate, has reported a bumper year with a net profit of USD 5.8 billion, marking its most profitable year to date. The group's revenue also reached a staggering USD 39.6 billion.
Emirates, the flagship airline of the group, operated a fleet of 260 aircraft, flying to 148 destinations in 80 countries. The airline's commitment to innovation and customer comfort is evident in its recent order for 314 new aircraft, including the Airbus A350, Boeing 777X, and 787.
In the passenger segment, Emirates is making significant strides. New lounges, an expanded chauffeur service, and an enhanced premium economy are being introduced on the new Airbus A350 fleet. The modernization of Emirates' fleet is a comprehensive program, with 219 aircraft set to be equipped with new cabins by 2026.
Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of the group, also had a strong year, contributing 13 percent to the group's total revenue with a cargo volume of 2.3 million tonnes. To bolster its global competitiveness, Emirates SkyCargo has made investments in new Boeing 777F freighters and digital tools.
The group's subsidiary, dnata, also saw growth, although specific figures for revenue and profit increase were not provided. dnata plans to open new facilities in Amsterdam, Dubai, and Erbil to expand cargo capacities.
Liquidity of the Emirates Group reached a record level of USD 14.6 billion. The group is looking to the future, with plans to grow further with the delivery of 16 Airbus A350s and 4 additional freighters in the upcoming financial year.
The new Al Maktoum International Airport project is gaining momentum and is set to become the hub of the future. The introduction of a new corporate tax in the United Arab Emirates led to an impressive net profit of USD 5.6 billion for Emirates after the tax was implemented.
The Emirates Group recorded a net profit of USD 6.2 billion in the 2024/25 financial year, reflecting the group's continued success and growth. With these impressive figures and expansion plans, the Emirates Group shows no signs of slowing down.
