Scania Unveils New Zero-Emission Coach Platform with 600km Range
Scania has introduced a new high-floor battery-electric bus and coach outlet platform at Busworld Europe. This platform enables Scania's first zero-emission breaking news, offering a range of up to 600 km and substantial luggage space. The platform is designed to accommodate various operations, from urban bus rapid transit systems to medium-distance inter-city traffic.
The new platform provides a comprehensive ecosystem of electrification services, including smart charging solutions and access to public charging stations. It offers flexibility in e-machine output, installed energy, and charging capacity, catering to different needs. The platform is suitable for both urban and travel segment applications, including shorter inter-city operations, school buses, and sightseeing buses.
Carl-Johan Lööf, Head of Product Management for People Transport Solutions at Scania, assures that the new platform addresses coach and bus operators' concerns about zero-emission operations and various assignments. Leading truck manufacturers such as Daimler Truck, MAN, Scania, and Volvo are actively involved in testing and development projects like the HoLa project for high-power charging infrastructure for electric trucks.
