Rosemead House: Historic Estate Reopens as Luxury Boutique Hotel
A historic estate in Esquimalt, Rosemead House, has been meticulously restored over a decade at a cost of $25 million. Now reopened as a boutique hotel, it promises an unparalleled experience for guests. Originally designed by architect Samuel Maclure in 1906 as the Old English Inn, Rosemead House has been painstakingly restored to its former glory. Maclure, also responsible for Government House and Hatley Castle, ensured the estate's architectural significance is preserved. The hotel boasts 2,500 square feet of meeting and event space, along with a state-of-the-art fitness centre featuring Peloton bikes. Guests can unwind in the 3,800-square-foot Salt & Ivy Spa, opening in two phases. The Crown Mezzanine library, adorned with art and heirlooms, offers a unique retreat. Janevca Kitchen & Lounge, headed by Chef Andrea Alridge, serves wood-fired cuisine and has been nominated for Air Canada's Best New Restaurant 2025. The hotel's interiors are filled with hundreds of hand-selected antiques and rare furnishings from UK estate auctions and London hotels. Rosemead House aims to provide a personalized experience for each guest, with no two rooms or experiences being the same. It offers 28 guest rooms, with 13 long-stay suites set to open later this year. Aragon Properties is proud to announce the grand opening of Rosemead House, a restored Edwardian estate in Esquimalt's Saxe Point. With its unique blend of history, luxury, and personalized experiences, it promises to be a standout destination for discerning travellers.
