easyJet Brings Back Fearless Flyer Courses to Help Overcome Flying Phobias

The British low-cost airline easyJet has announced the return of its Fearless Flyer courses, aiming to help individuals who are afraid of flying to learn to conquer their fears. The programme is available at London Gatwick, London Luton, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast, and Jersey.

The easyJet Fearless Flyer course is delivered in three parts, starting with a two-and-a-half-hour online ground session led by an easyJet captain. During this session, Lawrence Leyton, a psychologist specialising in fears and phobias, shares tips and practical anxiety management techniques. The captain also explains flight processes and demystifies unfamiliar sounds and sensations.

Following the online session, participants attend a one-hour preflight session via Zoom. Here, they receive further guidance about the airport experience and a Q&A with a pilot, Leyton, and Mark Wein, easyJet's Fearless Flyer Course Director. Wein, who has personally learned to overcome his fear of flying, encourages anyone with doubts about flying to book the course.

The third and final part of the programme is a one-hour journey on board an easyJet aircraft. The Fearless Flyer team supports participants throughout this part. Notably, easyJet stands out as the UK's cheapest flying-phobia programme, not only among low-cost carriers.

The Fearless Flyer courses at easyJet have a success rate of over 95%. Fiona Deans, who took part in the course at London Gatwick in May 2025, was able to fly again after 18 years. easyJet's Fearless Flyer Course provides reassurance and winning techniques by senior easyJet pilots and phobia experts.

The online course prices start at £89 per person, with nine courses offered across eight UK airports over the next four months. easyJet's Fearless Flyer course is led by a professional instructor, but the specific person's name is not publicly disclosed.

It's worth noting that around one in ten people in the UK suffer from some degree of aerophobia, with some sources suggesting that the figure could be as high as one in six. If you're one of them, easyJet's Fearless Flyer course could be the solution you've been looking for. Book your place today and take the first step towards a fearless flying experience.
