German Airport Ratings: Unveiling the Least Efficient Airports in the Country - Ranking of Airports: German Airports with Lowest Ratings

Oh, the joys of air travel! So it seems not everyone agrees on the merits of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Google users have it rated a paltry 3.2 out of 5. But despite this, Berlin Brandenburg Airport has won over passengers - it's the only one among the 25 largest in Germany that has improved in ratings.

This tiny improvement (a smidgen over 0.1 stars on Google) snagged Berlin Brandenburg Airport the title "The World's Most Improved Airport" this year at the World Airport Awards.

Airport Rankings Based on Google Reviews

You won't be shocked to learn that the data comes courtesy of AirHelp. These sharp cookies developed a list of the most popular and the least popular airports in Germany, based on search engine reviews. The rankings are based on around 300,000 Google reviews - with larger airports mentioned more frequently than smaller ones. Frankfurt/Main, for example, was mentioned a hefty 72,000 times, while Rostock-Laage was only mentioned 543 times.

Guess which airports are on top? Small fry like Lübeck-Blankensee (ranked 1st), Kassel-Calden (ranked 2nd), and Paderborn/Lippstadt (ranked 3rd). Why so high up? Well, it seems that a manageable number of flights makes the nuts and bolts of operations and infrastructure a touch easier to handle, keeping passengers happy.

  1. It appears that some community members might find the common employment policies at many airports, including Berlin Brandenburg Airport, inadequate based on their low ratings, as demonstrated by Google's data.
  2. Considering the superior performance of smaller airports like Lübeck-Blankensee, Kassel-Calden, and Paderborn/Lippstadt in terms of Google ratings, it could be indicated that a lifestyle of fewer flights contributes to a better travel experience for passengers due to smoother operations and infrastructure.
