Premium Plaza and Priority Pass Call Off Alliance [Impact on 57 Lounges]
The Priority Pass network, the world's largest airport lounge network, has seen a change in its lineup. After a brief absence, the Plaza Premium Lounge has rejoined the network as of June 2023.
However, this reunion comes with a slight inconvenience. Back in July 2021, 57 Plaza Premium Lounges were removed from the Priority Pass network, primarily operating overseas, primarily in Asia, Canada, and the U.K. After this separation, there is no direct information available about who the new operator of those lounges within the Priority Pass network is.
The Plaza Premium Lounge was once virtually included in all Priority Pass lounges, but this change did not affect the relationship between the two entities. The separation occurred in July 2021, and no specific reason was given.
Despite this temporary loss, Priority Pass still offers over 1,400 lounges worldwide for its members. This change does not affect Priority Pass access for holders of the Platinum Card or The Business Platinum Card from American Express, which also provide access to six different airport lounge networks, including all Priority Pass lounges, Plaza Premium Lounges, Amex Centurion Lounges, Aspire Lounges, Escape Lounges - The Centurion Studio Partner, and 10 visits to Delta Sky Clubs (when flying Delta same-day). Unlimited visits to Delta Sky Clubs can be unlocked through spend with the Amex Platinum card.
This latest development in the relationship between Plaza Premium Lounge and Priority Pass might not impact travelers who mostly travel domestically or do not frequent those regions. The Plaza Premium Lounge once again being part of the Priority Pass network is good news for those who often find themselves in the airports where Plaza Premium Lounges are located.
In conclusion, the Plaza Premium Lounge has rejoined the Priority Pass network, offering members more options for comfortable and relaxing airport experiences. Despite the temporary separation, Priority Pass continues to operate the world's largest airport lounge network, providing a valuable service to frequent travellers.
