Porsche introduces its first-ever aluminum luggage piece, mirroring the aesthetic of the 911 Targa, even replicating the distinctive 'thunk' sound of its doors.
Step into the world of luxury travel with Porsche Design's latest offering, a Targa-inspired suitcase collection that marries sleek design with advanced functionality. This collection consists of three sizes: a carry-on friendly 40L option, and larger 72L and 102L checked bag options.
Taking cues from the iconic Targa's brushed aluminum roll bar, this collection brings a touch of automotive heritage to your travels. Porsche Design partnered with Italian luxury luggage brand BRIC'S for this unique project, resulting in a stylish and sophisticated suite of traveling essentials.
Design
The Roadster Aluminum suitcases sport a cleaner profile than typical aluminum bags, eschewing visible hardware like rivets and traditional corner joints. Instead, they boast stamped exterior panels attached to a stabilized frame, featuring horizontal lines on both the front and back, reminiscent of the aerodynamics of the 911.
In keeping with Porsche's design ethos, these suitcases exhibit curvaceous, flowing lines that mirror the Targa's design philosophy. As per Porsche Design, the shells are designed to develop a unique patina over time, much like the mileage on a car tells the story of unforgettable road trips. For those preferring a stealthier look, black shells will also be available.

Porsche Design hasn't merely slapped their branding on some aluminum boxes with template designs. You'll find category mainstays like an ergonomic handle system with customizable height adjustments. But the unique touches set this collection apart. For instance, the silent and smooth 360-degree ball-bearing wheels draw inspiration from classic Carrera rims, while the flat TSA locks are preset to "911" and subtly integrate into the minimalist design.
Interior Organization
Inside the suitcase, a Porsche-inspired hexagon print lines the interior. The right side houses a spacious main compartment with a zippered divider and integrated slip pocket, while the left side offers an open compartment with cross straps and a practical packing plate. Each suitcase also includes a foldable bag for separating dirty clothing, crucial for longer trips.
