Picogrid Triples Production, Bridges Legacy Systems for Military AI

Picogrid, a trailblazing tech company, has expanded its operations with a new 25,000-square-foot facility in El Segundo, tripling its production capacity. The company specialises in using Large Language Models (LLMs) to analyse technical documents and aid engineers in understanding legacy systems.

Picogrid's innovative approach has caught the attention of other tech giants. Recently, it collaborated with Dedrone to enhance the AI-based counter-drone command system, AiON. This integration was successfully field-tested at the Scarlet Dragon interservice exercises hosted by the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg.

The Pentagon, eager to adopt AI-enhanced, multi-domain command networks, faces challenges due to the inability of many legacy systems to communicate with each other. Picogrid has stepped in to bridge this gap. It has partnered with Northrop Grumman to integrate its Legion software into AiON, acting as a universal translator between previously incompatible systems.

Picogrid's influence extends beyond counter-drone systems. It has integrated its Legion software into Palantir's Maven Smart System, a widely used military AI platform. The company has been quietly securing contracts with various military branches, including the Space Force, Air Force, Army, and has even worked in Ukraine.

Picogrid's expansion in El Segundo and plans for an additional production site in Oklahoma reflect the growing demand for its AI services. By enabling legacy systems to communicate using modern protocols and APIs, Picogrid is playing a pivotal role in the military's digital transformation.
