Musical Varadero adorns the Scene

From August 25th to 31st, 2025, the beautiful town of Varadero, Cuba, will play host to the 5th Varadero Josone Festival. This much-anticipated event is a veritable feast for music lovers, showcasing a diverse array of genres and artists from both Cuba and beyond.

The festival, with its slogan "¡Mira cómo vengo!", reaffirms its commitment to paying homage to the best of Cuban musical identity, while also embracing international musical expressions. The organisers, which include the Centro Nacional de Música Popular, the Instituto Cubano de la Música, and the Música Punto Cero project, have curated a lineup that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

Cuban Artists to Perform

Notable Cuban artists confirmed for the festival include Alain Pérez and La Orquesta, Alexander Abreu and Havana D’Primera, Cándido Fabré and his band, David Blanco, El Dray, El Hijo de Teresa and La Llegada, Formell and Los Van Van, Garo, Haila, Issac Delgado and his Orquesta (also festival president), JG, Maykel Blanco and his Salsa Mayor, Mamá Estoy Brillando, Moncada, Muñequitos de Matanzas, Roberto Fonseca and La Gran Diversión, Rodrigo Sosa “La Quenística”, Rumbatá, Wampi, Yomil, and Velito El Bufón.

International Artists to Perform

The international stage will be graced by the presence of Big Lois from Spain, the Colombian salsa group Manyoma Brothers, Katherin Aguilar, also known as Miss Timba, a Colombian DJ and visual artist. Artists from Puerto Rico, Spain, Colombia, and Argentina are also expected to perform.

A Week of Music and Entertainment

The festival will feature over 30 concerts and DJ sets over seven days, with 4-5 performances daily. The opening day will feature Moncada, El Hijo de Teresa y La Llegada, DJ sets, and Velito el Bufón. The event will be held at Josone Park in Varadero, combining high energy and cultural richness.

This diverse lineup reflects the festival’s growing importance as a cultural event uniting Cuban tradition with international musical expressions. Tickets can be purchased physically at Casa de la Música Habana, Casa de la Música de Miramar, and Agencia Paradiso, or digitally through the La Papeleta application. Both national and foreign audiences are welcome to attend this vibrant celebration of music and culture.
