Lisbon rises in popularity among preferred summer vacation spots worldwide
In a recent disclosure, Delta Air Lines has revealed the preferred summer destinations for 2025, with traditional favourites leading the way. London, Paris, and Rome secure the top three spots, followed by Cancun, Athens, and Tokyo.
The French capital, Paris, registered an impressive 16% increase in searches compared to last year, according to the airline. Tokyo climbs a spot to the sixth position with a robust 54% increase in searches.
Meanwhile, Lisbon makes its debut in the top 10 summer destinations, breaking into the list ahead of Vancouver, thanks to a 6.5% surge in searches.
Joining Lisbon in the top 10 are Amsterdam, Dublin, and Barcelona. The list is based on data collected from Delta Air Lines passenger surveys between November 2024 and March 2025, for travel between May and August 2025.
Domestically, New York City, Atlanta, Orlando, Las Vegas, Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston, Minneapolis, Detroit, and Honolulu are the most sought-after destinations.
