IndiGo set to debut 6 flights, featuring 4 UDAN routes
IndiGo, one of India's leading airlines, has announced the launch of six new connections, effective from June 22, 2019. The new routes aim to cater to both business and leisure travellers, with fares starting from INR 1,999.
The new flights include operations on four Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) routes: Kolkata-Allahabad, Allahabad-Kolkata, Raipur-Allahabad, Allahabad-Raipur, and a new connection between Allahabad and Raipur. IndiGo will also be launching new flights between Kolkata and Jabalpur. The new routes will be serviced by ATR aircraft.
Customers can book tickets for these new flights via the official IndiGo website, www.goindigo.in. IndiGo's Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. William Boulter, stated that the airline is pleased to enhance connectivity among Tier II cities, further bolstering its commitment to meeting the needs of various travelers.
In addition to these new routes, IndiGo has also been expanding its network from Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad. The airline now connects Hindon directly to nine cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, and Varanasi, with around 70 weekly departures. This expansion is designed to provide better regional connectivity, ease congestion at Delhi's main airport, and serve Tier II and III cities under the UDAN scheme.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu described this as a major success in regional connectivity growth. However, as of now, there is no explicit mention in the search results about new flights specifically on the Kolkata-Allahabad, Allahabad-Kolkata, Raipur-Allahabad, Allahabad-Raipur, or Kolkata-Jabalpur sectors under the UDAN scheme from Hindon Airport.
In conclusion, while IndiGo continues to expand its network, the latest available reports do not detail the operation of the mentioned routes under the Regional Connectivity Scheme by IndiGo. It is possible that these routes may be planned or operated by other airlines or might be part of future extensions of the UDAN scheme but are not confirmed in these recent reports. Customers are advised to check the official IndiGo website for the most up-to-date information on their travel plans.
