Increased Airline Services by Cathay Pacific in Australia and New Zealand, Expanding Travel Choices for Passengers

Cathay Pacific, the Hong Kong-based airline, is set to enhance its footprint in Australia and New Zealand with a significant increase in flight frequencies starting from October 2025. This move is in response to the growing travel demand and peak season needs, aiming to provide enhanced flexibility and coverage between Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.

From 27 October 2025, Cathay Pacific will operate double daily services from Brisbane and Perth, bringing each city to 14 weekly flights. This expansion also includes seasonal services to Adelaide and Cairns. The Adelaide service will operate three times per week from 12 November 2025 to 27 March 2026, while the Cairns service will operate three times per week from 10 December 2025 to 28 February 2026.

In New Zealand, Cathay Pacific will boost its presence with 11 weekly flights from Auckland starting on 2 December 2025. Seasonal services to Christchurch will also return earlier, covering the Southern Hemisphere summer comprehensively.

These changes reflect Cathay Pacific's commitment to meeting the growing demand for travel and providing a seamless travel experience. The airline has been recognised for its award-winning inflight service, Michelin-starred dining partnerships, Asia-Pacific's largest inflight entertainment library, and a perfect seven-star safety rating.

Cathay Pacific has been consistently ranked among the top four in AirlineRatings' World's Best Airline Awards, particularly for its Economy class experience. The airline, along with its low-cost subsidiary HK Express, will add 18 new destinations in 2025.

This expansion comes as the Cathay Group, which includes Cathay Pacific, reaches a milestone of flying to 100 destinations globally as of June 2025. The airline was also ranked among the top three safest carriers globally in 2025.

Travellers can look forward to a more frequent and convenient travel experience between Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand with Cathay Pacific's expanded flight services.

The finance department of Cathay Pacific, the Hong Kong-based airline, will likely see an increase in revenues due to the expanded flight services, especially from October 2025 onwards. The expanded services will also have a significant impact on the lifestyle sector, as travelers can now enjoy a wider variety of destinations within the Cathay Pacific network, thus enriching their travel experiences.
