- Belarus
- Georgia
- Iran
- Iraq
- Israel
- Jordan
- Kazakhstan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Lebanon
- Russia
- Syria
- Tajikistan
- Turkmenistan
- Uzbekistan
These severe disruptions to air travel come after numerous Israeli airstrikes on Iran in the pre-dawn hours of June 13th. Iran reported explosions in Tehran and other regions, and they have indefinitely shut down their airspace. Simultaneously, Iraq and Jordan also declared the closure of their airspaces and airports as a precautionary measure.
These closures impact some of the world's busiest air corridors, particularly those connecting Europe and Asia.
Global aviation giants such as Emirates, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, and Air India have been compelled to cancel, delay, or reroute thousands of flights to steer clear of the troubled areas on June 13 and 14. This is a notable escalation in regional tensions, with previous aviation disruptions occurring after an Israeli strike on Iran back in October 2024.
