In a bid to promote modern, sustainable mobility options, the city of Mönchengladbach has partnered with car-sharing company MILES to launch a free-floating car-sharing pilot project. This innovative service allows users to rent and park vehicles on public parking spaces within a designated business area without the need for fixed stations.
The business area, which includes Mönchengladbach and several surrounding cities, can be accessed using the MILES company app. With the app, users can easily find, book, and unlock vehicles, making short-term rentals a convenient alternative to private car ownership. The pilot project covers the urban area of Mönchengladbach and extends to cities such as Rheydt, Erkrath, Solingen, Duisburg, and Cologne, including airports Cologne-Bonn and Düsseldorf.
