Retro Rewind

If you're a fan of retro games, you won't want to miss the Retro Rewind event happening in Dublin 8 on Sunday, 3 August. The day starts at 12pm and features old school movie screenings, a retro games market and swap meet, board games to rent, and a Mario Kart showdown with live music by 8-Bit Funk. Tickets cost €5.

Farmleigh Family Fun Day

Sunday, 3 August, also sees Farmleigh in the Phoenix Park hosting a full day of creative events. The Children's Books Ireland Book Clinic will be available, and some of Ireland's best children's authors and illustrators, including Bex Sheridan, Oisin McGann, Sadhbh Rosenstock, Leona Forde, Tarsila Krüse, and Jolene and Lily Mae Cox, will be in attendance.

Tarot and Pottery Painting Night

For a more relaxed evening, consider the Tarot and Pottery Painting Night. On Saturday, 2 August, Dublin Pottery in Smithfield is hosting this event, and on Sunday, 3 August, from 14:00 - 15:15, the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) is hosting a similar event in their courtyard. Participants can bring their own drinks and snacks.

Free Family Ceilí at IMMA Courtyard

In addition to these events, Ella Bertilsson is participating in the group exhibition Faigh Amach at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. On Friday, 1 August, there will be a Gallery Talk: Ella Bertilsson in conversation with Aideen Barry as part of the Faigh Amach exhibition.

It's worth noting that the Dublin Irish Festival, which is often mistakenly associated with Dublin, Ireland, actually takes place in Ohio, USA. Other notable events like the Dublin Horse Show and Dublin Comic Con occur later in August.
