At Marie-Curie High School, thanks to Anke Henrich, students now have the opportunity to delve into Europe through the establishment of the new Marie-Curie Foundation.

European students at Marie-Curie High School can now delve into Europe's riches, courtesy of the newly established Marie-Curie Foundation, an accomplishment attributed to Anke Henrich.

The Markgraflichen Gymnasium (MCG) is excited to announce a new opportunity for its students in grade 10 (EF level). A generous donation from Anke Henrich has established the "Marie Grenzenlos" foundation, a consumption foundation under the Bürgerstiftung, which will provide students with the chance to embark on an international stay of up to six months.

The "Marie Grenzenlos" foundation is dedicated to fostering cultural exchange, education, and social integration among students. Principal Stefan Holl of the European School explains that this initiative aligns with the school's ethos, which promotes the idea of a united Europe.

The board of trustees, which includes Anke Henrich, Dieter Steins (chairman of the Carl-Steins-Stiftung and deputy chairman of the board of trustees of the Bürgerstiftung), Wolfgang Steinert (deputy chairman of BuNe and tax advisor), Barbel Kremers-Gerads, and principal Stefan Holl, will review each student's personally formulated application.

To be eligible, students must maintain satisfactory academic performance during their international stay to ensure their academic success is not compromised.

The programme offers students the opportunity to explore Sweden, Holland, England, and Poland. Anke Henrich, the founder of the foundation, estimates that it will take a few years for all the funds to be expended.

Anke Henrich's daughter, Carlotta Berlett, graduated from MCG last year and had a positive school experience there. The foundation's name, "Marie Grenzenlos," reflects Anke Henrich's personal journey as a single mother who, in her youth, was not financially well off.

Applications for the international stay program can be found in the school secretariat. Wolfgang Steinert, the tax advisor responsible for discreetly and confidentially checking the eligibility for the international stay program, will compare it to that of a student BAFöG.

Two thirds of the donation made by Anke Henrich benefits MCG students, while one third goes into the capital of the Bürgerstiftung.

Six students have already applied for the international stay program, and the first recipients will be announced in due course. The "Marie Grenzenlos" foundation is set to broaden the horizons of MCG students, offering them a unique opportunity to discover Europe and enrich their educational journey.

For more detailed information about the "Marie Grenzenlos" foundation under the Bürgerstiftung and its specific offers for MCG students in grade 10, we recommend checking the official website of the Bürgerstiftung connected to MCG or contacting the school administration directly.
