Emirates Unveils Travel Outlet in Mauritius, Reinforces Tourism Collaboration in the Island Nation

Emirates, the world's largest international airline, has officially inaugurated a new Travel Store in Port-Louis, Mauritius, cementing its presence and reaffirming its commitment to improving the travel experience for local customers. The new store, located at The Docks 2, United Docks Business Park, offers innovative technology-driven experiences and personalized travel assistance.

The opening of the store represents a significant milestone in the airline's long-standing partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), aimed at bolstering tourism to the island. The partnership includes a renewed Memorandum of Understanding to promote Mauritius as a top holiday destination.

The 1,895-square-foot store allows customers to explore Emirates' latest inflight products, utilize self-service kiosks, take destination-themed photographs, and purchase exclusive branded merchandise. The launch ceremony was attended by Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim, Mauritius Minister of Housing and Lands Shakeel Mohamed, and senior executives from both Emirates and MTPA.

Kazim emphasized Emirates' 23-year presence in Mauritius and its dedication to delivering seamless, personalized service through the new store. The partnership between Emirates and MTPA focuses on engaging travel agents and tour operators across key global markets to increase visitor arrivals, which exceeded 1.3 million in 2024.

Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates Senior Vice President for Commercial West Asia and Indian Ocean, highlighted the importance of the airline's double daily A380 flights in supporting the island's tourism growth and local economy. Both Minister of Tourism Richard Duval and MTPA Chairperson Claire Le Lay praised the collaboration's role in expanding Mauritius's global connectivity and tourism appeal.

Emirates currently operates two direct daily A380 flights to Mauritius, serving as a vital link between the island and the world. The new Travel Store is designed to not only enrich the customer experience but also strategically boost tourism by promoting the island as an attractive travel destination.
