Welcome to Russia's 2025 Tourist Season: Buckle Up for Higher Travel Costs!

Gear up, travel enthusiasts! If you're planning a getaway in Russia this year, keep your wallet at the ready - it's likely going to take a hit. According to Mikhail Maltsov, head of the Ural Tourism Association, travel prices are on the rise for the upcoming tourist season.

"The economy's inflating, and that's giving a solid nudge to the tourism industry," explains Maltsov. "International travel prices will jump by about 12% on average, while popular destinations like Antalya, Turkey, will see prices for 'five-star' luxury vacations skyrocket by 18-20% compared to last year."

Domestic travel isn't exempt either. Maltsov predicts prices will inflate by 8-11%, but expect this figure to fluctuate depending on specific circumstances.

But fear not, for other destinations could grab your attention. With the ongoing ecological crisis plaguing the Krasnodar region, located on the Black Sea, tourist demand might zig when others zag. Curious alternatives, like the Caspian and Azov seas, might pique your interest.

"While lapping up the sun on our beloved Black Sea resorts might be a hard sell this year, there's plenty to explore in other regions," suggests Maltsov. "Check out the Rostov region and newly-minted Russian territories where amazingly presentable accommodations await, even if they haven't been spoiled by military action!"

Another under-the-radar destination to watch is Crimea. Against the backdrop of renewed interest, travel prices there are expected to rise - a combination of surge in demand (due to its allure and limited capacity) and geopolitical factors further fueling the burn in your wallet.

The Ural Tourism Association held numerous events with Crimea's Ministry of Tourism, showcasing shiny revisions of Soviet heritage and luring tourists with juicy details on logistics. "We've been rolling the dice with Crimea, but I have a sneaking suspicion that our hard work with the Ministry won't be for naught," Maltsov adds with a cheeky grin.

So, when you're grocery shopping for your travel essentials, bear in mind that travel prices are taking a leap this season. Embrace the adventure, explore new destinations, and remember to have a blast!
