Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral: A Modern and Affordable Stay in the Heart of the City

The Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral offers a modern and affordable stay in the heart of downtown Kuala Lumpur. Located right next to KL Sentral station, this hotel is conveniently situated near numerous attractions such as Brickfields, Thean Hou Temple, National Mosque of Malaysia, Perdana Botanical Garden, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, Petaling Street Market, and Merdeka Square.

Upon entering the room, guests are greeted by a spacious main bathroom featuring 2 individual sinks on the vanity and a shower with both a handheld and a waterfall showerhead. The bathroom also boasts a bidet hose, a toilet, and a storage unit large enough to hold all your clothes. Against the left wall, there is a small bench and a full-length mirror.

The bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed, adorned with 4 plush pillows and 2 bolster pillows. The windows stretch across the room's length and provide a panoramic view of downtown Kuala Lumpur. Each side of the bed has a wall-mounted nightstand, with the room alarm clock and switches for the light fixtures on the right nightstand. Nearby, an armchair and a standing lamp are to the far left of the bedroom.

Against the wall in the main bathroom, reusable bottles of Drybar-branded shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel can be found. The hotel also provides a variety of toiletries, including toothbrush kits, mouthwash, and Drybar body lotion. Two additional complementary water bottles are also provided in the main bathroom.

The room's workstation is in the corner against the windows, offering a ton of natural light. The bedroom's main seating area has 2 sofas positioned perpendicular to each other, with an incredibly large coffee table in the center. A large TV is mounted on the wall across from the left sofa in the main seating area.

The room's iron and ironing board are located in the closet in the bedroom. Parking for hotel guests costs RM10 (~$2) per entry, and valet parking is available at RM25 (~$5) per car for 24 hours. The hotel provides several extra towels and 2 pairs of complimentary slippers in the bedroom.

The shower in the main bathroom's tile backsplash is a colourful and interesting feature. The bathroom in the half bathroom also shares this design. The hotel also provides a shower cap and a sanitary bag in the main bathroom. A sliding door separates the shower and toilet areas, offering privacy for each, but only one area can be closed off at a time.

The hotel features an outdoor rooftop infinity pool open daily between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. The hotel's rooftop poolside bar, Mai Bar, is open daily from 2 p.m. to midnight and offers an extensive menu, emphasizing specially crafted cocktails and gourmet bar snacks. W XYZ bar, situated on the ground level adjacent to the check-in desk and open daily from 9 a.m. until midnight, hosts a live music show every Friday evening and has an extensive alcohol selection.

The hotel also has a fully equipped fitness center open 24 hours a day. The SkyBus is a convenient and inexpensive way to get to the airport, and the hotel provides airport buses directly from KL Sentral to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral offers plenty of value without the hefty price tag of other upscale hotels in the area.

The hotel provides complimentary Wi-Fi to all guests. The room's telephone is on the nightstand to the left of the bed in the bedroom. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming during the brief interactions the author had with them. A 1-night stay at the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral cost 333 Malaysian ringgit, or about $71, before taxes and fees.

Staying frequently at Marriott properties, using Marriott co-branded credit cards, taking advantage of promotions and bonus offers, booking meetings or events at Marriott hotels, and referring friends to the program are the best ways to earn tons of Marriott Bonvoy points.
