City's New Library Initiative
The city library of Gießen is set to host a series of captivating events this autumn, catering to a wide range of interests. From literature to music, and even a day dedicated to libraries, there's something for everyone.
On October 30, the city council chamber will play host to "The Magician," a novel by Magdalena Parys. Translated from Polish by Lothar Quinckenstein, this book won the European Union Literature Prize in 2015. Registration may be required for some events, and admission is free, unless otherwise communicated.
For music lovers, Tess Wiley, a singer-songwriter who lived in Gießen after meeting her German ex-husband during a European tour, will be performing at the city library on November 6 as part of the "Library's Stage" event series. Tess will be accompanied by her guitarist Tim Potzas. Her latest release is "Femme Sole."
Erwin Müller will also be at the city library on November 20 with his true-crime novel "Death Transit - The Murder Case of Stippbach Valley." This novel is based on a real, unsolved criminal case from 1981.
The "Day of Libraries" will be celebrated nationwide on October 24. Sacha Gutzeit will be present at the city library on this day with the second volume of the children's crime book series "The City-Country-Flow Detectives - The Night of the Phantom." Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all events.
The Crime Festival's website in Gießen will be the place to purchase tickets for these events, starting from September 14th. The venue for all events is the city library of Gießen, unless otherwise communicated.
Investigations are also underway in Berlin, with Commissioner Kowalski uncovering cover-ups by influential politicians and a secret service operation in Bulgaria. Dagmara Bosch, a television journalist, is also involved in this investigation as her father's mysterious accident in Bulgaria in 1980 is linked to the Cologne case.
The search results do not provide information about which author will be invited on November 6th to the "Bühne der Stadtbibliothek" event series in Gießen. Stay tuned for more updates!
