Dubai-Based Carrier flydubai Announces Expansion into Four European Destinations
Dubai, UAE - Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has revealed its plans to expand its European network with the addition of four new destinations: Chisinau, Moldova; Iasi, Romania; Riga, Latvia; and Vilnius, Lithuania. Flights are set to commence in September and December 2025.
The introduction of these routes will increase flydubai's European destinations to 35, spanning across 20 countries. From September, travelers can expect the first-ever direct UAE connection to Iasi, Romania. Additionally, flydubai will dive into the Baltic region, marking another milestone in its growing list of over 100 underserved markets.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, the CEO of flydubai, commented, "This expansion reflects our commitment to opening up underserved markets and stimulating free flows of trade and tourism." Al Ghaith added that the airline has now built a diverse network of more than 135 destinations, with 75% catering to underserved routes from Dubai.
The new routes will be serviced by Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Emirates, flydubai's partner airline, will codeshare on all four routes, offering passengers more connection opportunities through Dubai's international aviation hub.
In a positive development, flydubai is also set to commence its seasonal summer flight operations on June 4. The summer network will include 11 holiday destinations, with two new additions: Al Alamein in Egypt and Antalya in Turkey.
Jeyhun Efendi, the Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and e-commerce at flydubai, expressed the company's excitement about growing its network. Efendi highlighted that Europe remains an essential market for flydubai, and these new gateways into Eastern Europe and the Baltic region will further enhance travel experiences.
Passengers will find more affordable options with Economy Class Lite airfares to these destinations starting at AED 1,600. Return Business Class fares from Dubai International (DXB) to Chisinau International Airport (RMO) and Iasi International Airport (IAS) will start from AED 8,000. From DXB to Vilnius International Airport (VNO) and Riga International Airport (RIX), return Business Class fares will begin at AED 7,500. Economy Class Lite fares to VNO and RIX will cost AED 2,200 and AED 1,800, respectively.
Passengers can book these new flights online at flydubai.com or via its call center and travel agents. Flydubai also continues its commercial partnership with Emirates, allowing passengers access to more than 130 destinations in Emirates' network through code-sharing.
