Bremen's 'Young Voices' Initiative Launches with 600 Young Talents

Bremen's cultural scene is buzzing with the launch of 'Young Voices Bremen', an initiative aimed at nurturing young talent in the city's choirs. The project, led by Julia Bachmann, saw around 600 children and young people perform their debut concert at the Metropol Theater last Sunday, February 25th.

The 'Young Voices Bremen' initiative was launched to tackle the shortage of young talent in Bremen's choirs. The project, which began with rehearsals in autumn 2023, includes six newly formed choirs, 25 school classes, and 16 kindergarten groups from across Bremen, supported by the Senator for Culture. The young singers presented a modern, intercultural, multilingual adaptation of the Bremen Town Musicians, showcasing pieces from various continents.

The project is open to all children and young people aged 6 to 16, with no registration required. Interested participants can join rehearsals at any time, with six different choirs available across Bremen. Further information about the project is available at www.kreischorverband-bremen.de. The Mayor and Senator for Culture, Andreas Bovenschulte, welcomed the young performers before the concert, highlighting the community experience and solidarity in choir singing. Bachmann, the project leader, noted the increased self-confidence and singing ability among the young participants.

'Young Voices Bremen' has successfully launched, with 600 young talents performing their first major concert. The initiative, open to all young people aged 6 to 16, aims to foster young talent in Bremen's choirs. With the support of the Senator for Culture and the Mayor, the project looks set to continue growing and enriching Bremen's cultural landscape.
