Belarusian Puppet Theaters to Embark on Reciprocal Tour with Smola, Scheduled for 18-19 November

The Smolensk Puppet Theater, a popular destination for both children and adult theater enthusiasts, will be collaborating with the Belarusian State Puppet Theater in an exciting exchange tour. The event is set to take place on November 18-19.

The Smolensk Puppet Theater, which has been operating since 1937, will present two productions during the exchange tours: "Tutta Karlsson First and Only" and the touching story "Bakh-bakh-bakh." The latter, a heartwarming tale about a circus dog, addresses themes of defenseless creatures, forgiveness, and love. "Bakh-bakh-bakh" is suitable for family viewing and is intended for viewers over six years old.

The play was written by Yulia Posselova, an author whose specific biographical details are not widely available in public sources. The Smolensk Regional Puppet Theater in Minsk will present "Bakh-bakh-bakh" on November 18 and 19 at the Belarusian State Puppet Theater at 11:00 and 14:00.

The Belarusian State Puppet Theater will also reciprocate by presenting their production "Bakh-bakh-bakh" at the Smolensk Regional Puppet Theater. This collaboration is part of a cooperation agreement between the two theaters, aiming to provide new experiences and allow Minsk residents and puppet theater enthusiasts to get acquainted with the work of Smolensk guests.

The Smolensk Puppet Theater was later named after D.N. Svetilnikov, who served as its chief director from 1955 to 1971. The Minsk Puppet Theater in Smolensk will also present their productions at the Belarusian State Puppet Theater during the exchange tours.

Each theater will present productions from their current repertoire during the exchange tours. The exchange tours are expected to be a unique opportunity for both theaters to showcase their creative talents and share their love for puppetry.
