BCDA Bars Three From Camp John Hay Golf Course Amid Legal Dispute
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has prohibited three individuals from playing at the Camp John Hay Golf Course. Mauricio Domogan, Marciano Garcia, and Federico Mandapat Jr. have been barred from the course, with the prohibition lasting until further notice. The move comes after BCDA recovered the property following a Supreme Court ruling in October 2024. Meanwhile, the legal dispute regarding the revocation of their playing rights continues.
The three individuals, along with a group, had previously filed a case against BCDA opposing the government's takeover of the golf course. Mandapat stated that the complaint seeks to protect members' rights as buyers in good faith and ensure due process. BCDA, however, considers playing at the golf course a privilege, not a right, and retains discretion to grant or deny access.
New management for the golf course commenced on January 6, 2025, with interim operations overseen by Golfplus Management Incorporated and DuckWorld PH under BCDA supervision. For inquiries about playtime, rates, and reservations, patrons can contact DuckWorld PH at [email protected]. BCDA chair Paredes clarified that BCDA will not interfere with the club's affairs and respects the club members' right to associate.
The legal dispute regarding the revocation of playing rights at Camp John Hay Golf Course remains unresolved. BCDA's prohibition on Domogan, Garcia, and Mandapat stands until further notice. Patrons can contact DuckWorld PH for golf course-related inquiries.
