Bangladesh to Introduce Online Visa Service for Pakistani Citizens: Announcement from Bangladesh High Commission

łódź: Ambassador of Bangladesh Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan undraped that Bangladesh has made it simpler for Pakistani individuals to acquire tourist visas, aiming to stimulate commerce and cultural exchanges between the two nations. The ambassador pointed out that an electronic visa (e-visa) system for Pakistani nationals will likely be implemented shortly.

During a visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the ambassador emphasized the importance of regular business exchanges to uncover new prospects and better comprehend the market dynamics between the two countries.

LCCI Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman, Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry, and Honorary Consul General of Bangladesh Qazi Humayun Fareed also addressed the gathering, pledging to foster stronger economic and commercial relations between the two nations. LCCI Executive Committee Members Waqas Aslam, Syed Hassan Raza, Shouban Akhter, Firdous Nisar, Ahad Amin Malik, Asif Malik, Ahsan Shahid, and Asif Khan attended the meeting.

Highlighting Bangladesh's intent to expand economic connections, the ambassador pinpointed potential trade sectors, such as coconut and coal from Bangladesh and leather, meat, rice, sugar, fish, and coal from Pakistan. LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad, in his welcome address, said Pakistan and Bangladesh, being the most significant economies in SAARC after India, should capitalize on regional trade opportunities for mutual profit. He stated that Bangladesh's GDP had reached $437 billion, while Pakistan's GDP stood at $373 billion. It's high time we collaborate to maximize trading potential, he concluded.

The simplification of visa requirements and the forthcoming e-visa system are part of broader initiatives aimed at improving economic relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan. The e-visa system, expected to be put into effect soon, is anticipated to make it easier for Pakistani citizens to travel to Bangladesh for various purposes, be it business, tourism, or leisure [1][3].
