Austrian Federal Railways announces their statement.
The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) is expanding its network to include night trains, offering travellers a unique and comfortable way to explore Europe overnight. The Nightjet and EuroNight trains operate on various routes, including the journey from Hannover to Vienna, which takes approximately 11.5 hours.
ÖBB is currently looking for additional stations to be included in the network, although it is not yet clear if they will stop in other specific regions. At present, Braunschweig is not a planned stop for ÖBB night trains.
The night trains provide a range of compartments for passengers to make themselves comfortable during the journey, making them a popular choice among travellers who wish to minimise stress during their journey. These trains are also a viable option for travel during the off-peak season, as they offer an exciting way to explore European metropolises.
The expansion of ÖBB's track network is ongoing, with the cost of adding additional stops on ÖBB night trains being significant. There are no plans for changes in the night train network at the moment.
Travellers from the region will still have to take detours to use the night train service, but the trains are part of the European travel network, allowing passengers to reach various destinations across the continent.
The ÖBB night trains serve as an alternative to Deutsche Bahn's sleeping car fleet, which has been largely mothballed. These trains are coordinated with DB partners, allowing for seamless travel across borders.
These trains allow you to reach numerous metropolises across Europe without the need for transfers, making them an attractive option for those looking to travel in comfort and convenience. However, it is worth noting that additional stops on ÖBB night trains would lengthen travel time and cost a lot of money.
At present, there are no publicly announced ÖBB plans for night trains connecting Braunschweig directly with European metropolitan cities. Existing night train services such as the ÖBB Nightjet primarily serve other major routes in Europe but do not mention Braunschweig as a stop or hub.
Despite this, the ÖBB night trains remain a valuable addition to the European travel network, offering travellers a unique and comfortable way to explore Europe overnight.
