Exit from the Middle East's Blazing Conflict: Special Flights Escape Israel via Jordan

Private jet from Jordan successfully touched down in Frankfurt, Germany. - Arrival of Exceptional Jordanian Aircraft in Frankfurt

Let's dive into the latest development in the heated Middle Eastern chaos—a string of extraordinary flights whisking German citizens and their kin out of Israel and into the heart of Europe. After a nervous wait, these jets have finally touched down in Frankfurt am Main, following their journey from Amman, Jordan. A whopping 171 souls found refuge, as initially announced by the Foreign Office on X.

Another special flight is set to take flight on Thursday, but it's already brimming with passengers. More airborne expeditions are in the works, the Foreign Office noted. For those Germans yearning to leave Israel, the challenge lies in independently making their way to Jordan's borders.

Many European nations, like agile Poland, have geared up convoy-style missions to Jordan, aiming to rescue their countrymen. The Federal Foreign Office urges Germans to register on its crisis preparedness list, Elefand.

Previously, a Foreign Office representative maintained that these flights weren't about repatriation or a daring rescue mission—just a series of commercial special flights, due to airlines' limited options. These aircrafts will take off "as long as the situation allows and there's a demand."

The unfolding drama in the region is as volatile as a powder keg, the spokesperson warned. The Israeli military's continuous forays into Iran and Iranian shelling on Israel keep the airspace above both countries shut, making a straightforward departure impossible.

Germans must traverse Jordan independently

The Federal Foreign Office has opted against organizing tours directly from Israel to Jordan's airport, citing potential hazards. The initial advice for those caught in the chaos is to stick to the Israeli authorities' security instructions. "They frequently emphasize the risks of overland travel and congregating in crowds at present," the spokesperson stated.

As of now, more than 4,000 Germans have penned their names on the German crisis preparedness list, Elefand, indicating they're in Israel. In Iran, the count exceeds 1,000 registrations.

The Federal Foreign Office recommends Germans holed up in Iran to cross territories to neighboring Armenia and Turkey—the border crossings at these borders are operational. In exceptional cases, it's possible to exit via the border to Azerbaijan. From any of these states, travelers can continue their journey to Germany using commercial flights. "Germans should seize these opportunities to advance their journey to Germany," the statement read. "Our embassy in Tehran offers support for departures, if feasible, even reaching out directly to Iranian officials."

  1. The German Foreign Office advises citizens to register on the crisis preparedness list, Elefand, if they are in Israel or Iran, as they might need to travel independently through Jordan to escape the Middle Eastern conflict.
