Dallas, Texas - Dallas Love Field and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) are gearing up for their busiest travel days of the summer over the July 4 holiday. According to recent reports, the busiest travel days are expected to be **July 2, July 3**, and possibly **July 1**, with **July 3** being the peak departure day.

At DFW, approximately 1.8 million people are anticipated to pass through the airport between July 2 and July 8. KERA's news intern, Olla Mokhtar, reports that Dallas Love Field anticipates around 265,000 travelers between July 2 and 8, with over 285,000 customers expected on the Monday after the holiday.

The increase in passengers is due to the holiday falling on a Friday, allowing for extended weekend travel plans. Additionally, many travelers choose to start their holiday trips early, making **July 3** one of the busiest travel days nationwide and in Texas airports.

While there is ongoing construction at DFW Airport, no such construction is reported at Dallas Love Field. However, potential traffic congestion due to the busy travel period is expected at both airports. Rob Himler, DFW spokesman, advises travelers to anticipate potential delays or congestion and recommends arriving 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international ones.

DFW Airport, being one of the world's largest hubs, may see an increase in the number of passengers depending on weekend travel and weather conditions. Himler stated that the airport is seeing just as many customers as last year's historic summer.

For those planning to travel during this period, it is essential to plan accordingly for increased crowds and security waits. By being prepared and aware of the expected busy days, travelers can ensure a smoother and less stressful holiday travel experience.
