Amazon set to launch Mardin under Prime service
In a captivating new documentary series, "The Wanderer," globally renowned historian Bettany Hughes and television presenter Alex Outhwaite journey through the enchanting city of Mardin, Turkey. This eight-episode series, streaming on Amazon Prime Video in 137 countries, offers viewers a unique exploration of Mardin's historical, cultural, and natural landmarks.
The documentary series delves into Mardin's rich heritage, showcasing its ancient architecture, significant sites in the central Artuklu district and the Midyat area, both known for their unique stone buildings and cultural mosaic. These sites reflect Mardin's diverse past, influenced by various civilizations over centuries.
"The Wanderer" also emphasizes Mardin's vibrant cultural fabric, highlighting the traditions, languages, and lifestyles that have flourished in this region as a bridge between different cultures and religions. The production of "The Wanderer" was supported by Türkiye's Ministry of Culture and Tourism as well as the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA). Turkish Airlines (THY) is also involved in promoting Mardin to international tourism markets. In May, a delegation from Singapore and Malaysia visited Mardin through a collaboration between Turkish Airlines and the TGA. A delegation from China visited Mardin in June, as part of tourism promotions.
