Leipzig Airport: Passengers Feel the Chill
Whether it's a sun-soaked beach holiday, a city adventure, or a snowy mountain escape, Leipzig Airport could take you there. Almost. Except for one – a direct connection is about to expire. According to the "Volksstimme", Tirana, Albania's capital, will cease to be an option as of November 1st, 2025.
Known for its Ottoman, Italian, and communist architecture, this destination won't be available from Leipzig. But don't pack away those suitcases just yet. Many other sought-after destinations are still within reach.
The Vanishing Act:
Why Tirana was axed from the winter schedule remains a mystery. It was only recently added to the roster back in September 2024. The portal "Tag24" suspects that the route didn't resonate much with travellers, making it less-trafficked. But there's no cause for despair, there's still a treasure trove of popular destinations to choose from.
